  • The American Prospect: Non-evolving views on evolution

It isn’t that there aren’t educated Republicans who understand evolution, and it isn’t even that they’re a minority within their party—although they are (according to Gallup, 52 percent of Republicans think God created humans in our present form less than 10,000 years ago). It’s that none of…

Ad hominem aside, the point of this stub is fear. Both instilling and in expression. so America is now Christian religion party against anti-Christian religion party? When that happen? Remember, both evolution and creationism are theories. Consider this, what if we do have a boldly young earth? What if there is no migration from species to species (as dna now shows)’ but only mutation? Then that would make the republicans a very progressive and intelligent party, who shirk the political dogma, and bureaucratic entrenchment. I am not partisan. I wouldn’t vote for someone just becuase they were republicans any more than i would vote for them just because they were creationist. Furthermore, would it really be so bad if your kids learned an opposing theory? And if this many people believe this theory than should we not demand it get at least some recognition in education? This is why I spend less and less time with mainstream journalism. Not because they do not speak to my ideology, but becuase they really miss the news. Half of one party’s political leaders believe this? This is not “opinion”’, if this article were much more than sensationalist propaganda, they would investigate the opinion of the otherside, not just republish ad hominem.
